November 05, 2007 SEMA Show Coverage - Audio/Video/Photos
We spent the week at SEMA covering the show and checking out the great custom rides. Among this years coverage, an interview with Toyota Product Specialists on the new offroad Land Cruiser. At around 60K, its packed with technology and the most airbags of ANY SUV in the world. Amenities and after market products abound for this, including a snorkel setup. Most of these are shipped to the Middle East.
I was also amazed at the number of wheel and new tire companies in the industry. Many have been around for less then 5 years, trying to capitalize on niches for high end auto enthusiasts. Asanti was sporting a 42" wheel. Now thats the size of a tractor tire.... Motorsport Motion Model was showing it off for us. Look inside for the images.
Lexus also announced an after market line for its luxury autos. Lexus is using the F brand to launch itself into the arena of premium luxury sports cars. Hitched to the wagon of the recently introduced IS-F is the next salvo: F-Sport performance accessories. Presumably, if you like to tune your cars with manufacturer-backed parts, or if you have a 2006 or newer IS 250 or IS 350 and want to hook up a home-cooked IS-F, this is where you should look first.
Parts include: 19" forged alloy wheels, front and rear brakes with cross-drilled discs and blue calipers and carbon-rotored beauties with yellow calipers, a carbon fiber engine cover, performance air intake, lowering spring set, performance shock absorber kit, sway bar kit, and lower rear chassis brace, among other goodies.
